How to get a Library Card

1.   Show proof of identification and your current address : (driver's license,  photo ID, printed check, utility/phone/cable bill, rent receipt, other form of current mail).

2.   Supply a reference (friend, neighbor, relative) : name and phone number.

3.    Fill out registration card and obtain your library card in approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

4.    If you are a McMinn County resident, your 1st library card is free.

5.    If you do not live in McMinn County, you may obtain a library card for
$10 for a 2 year period, however, if you only wish to use the computers, you may do so by providing documentation of your out-of-county status.

6.    Parents or legal guardian are required to sign the registration card for all children under the age of 18.

7.    Lost library cards may be replaced for $2.50

(cards are not issued within 10 minutes of the library closing time)


Those using E.G. Fisher's wireless internet connection are exempt from this policy, but must abide by the "Library Internet Policy" **


**The Library Internet Policy has been approved by the McMinn County Library Board as of October 12, 2007. This policy will replace the Library's Internet Policy and Acceptable Use Agreement. This new policy will be added to the website, and hard copies will be available as soon as possible.
