Borrowing Privileges
Library Cards
Library cards are issued free of charge to residents of McMinn County. Patrons residing outside of the county may pay a fee of $10 per year for library privileges. In registering for a library card, be prepared to provide proof of current mailing address, such as driver's license or printed checks. Parents or a legal guardian are required to sign the registration card for all children under the age of 18. Replacement cards can be obtained for a $4.00 charge.
Checking Out
Patrons receiving a first-time library card will may check out only 2 items when the card is issued. You must present your library card to check out any items. Patrons with $5 or more in overdue fines may not check out materials until fines have been resolved.

Note: Magazines for circulation must be back-issues.
Renewal
You may renew an item two times if there is not a reserve for that item. You may renew by phone, but you must provide your library card barcode # when you call.
Returns
A book drop is available to the left of the front door of the library to return borrowed items.

Patrons may use our web based library catalog to search for materials in our collection and to determine whether an item is on the shelf or checked out. Click here to check on the status of an item.
Holds
Patrons may place a title on hold by asking at the circulation desk. There is a $1 holds fee for titles placed on hold from our collection as well as those obtained from other libraries.
