Library Mission Statement:

The E.G. Fisher Public Library builds community, offering all people in McMinn County a full range of resources needed to live, learn, govern, and work.

The library is a dependable source of reliable information and of challenging ideas that enlighten and enrich.  The library offers materials in many formats that enhance leisure time and expand our knowledge of our world.  The library encourages the love of reading and the joy of learning and offers the assistance people need to find, evaluate, and use electronic and print information resources that help us live successful and rewarding lives.

Computers for public use - The library is pleased to offer computes for the public to use to access the Internet, and for word processing purposes.  We will be happy to assist you as time permits.  You must present your library card & sign a registration form to use the computers.  There is a one hour time limit if other patrons are waiting.

Copying & FAX charges - We have a coin-operated copier for the public to use.  Costs of copying are $.20 per page. Copies made from computer workstations and the microfilm readers are also $.20 per page.  We offer fax services as well. It is $1.00 per page to send a fax and $.50 per page to receive a fax. Our fax number is 423-745-1763.

Holds - You may place an item on hold from our collection for a charge of $1 per item. Payment is due when you pick up the item.  We will call you and let you know once your item is in and available for you to pick up.  You may also now place a hold on an item through our online catalog (accessed at www.fortloudoun.org).

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) - Books not found in our collection may be borrowed through the Interlibrary Loan program.  You may request an item by author, title, or subject.  You are allowed up to 3 requests at a time.  Items published/released in the last year are usually not available.

Meeting Rooms The library has 2 rooms available for public use.  The Community Room may be scheduled on a one-time or ongoing basis - fees vary according to length of use.  The Board Room is available for groups meeting with 12 people or less and is free of charge (*however, this room may not be scheduled more than one week in advance).  For more information, check with library staff.
